Likhaan receives “Amada” from the WomenbizPH, INTECO and Isuzu Philippines, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros

Updated: Apr 11, 2023

2 days post Valentine’s, Likhaan Center for Women’s Health received the gift of life-saving ambulance from INTECO and Isuzu Philippines, in partnership with staunch women’s health advocates, the Women’s Business Council and the office of Sen. Risa Hontiveros.

In the short turn-over ceremony held at the INTECO office on Quezon Avenue, Guest of Honor, Sen. Risa Hontiveros cited Likhaan’s work:

“Even when the enhanced community quarantine was imposed, hindi huminto ang Likhaan sa pagbigay ng serbisyo. Bukod pa sa family planning services, naging kandungan din ang Likhaan para sa mga victim-survivors ng domestic abuse. Naging bangungot ang matinding lockdown para sa mga babae at bata na kasama ang mga abusers sa kanilang bahay. Kaya, maraming salamat sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Likhaan para sa walang humpay ninyong pagkalinga.

You continue to be our champions for women’s health on the ground, at bilang kasalukuyang Chairperson ng Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, hangad ko ding patuloy na maka-ambag pa sa pagpapalakas ng ating mga polisiya para sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng ating Kababaihan“

Also present at the ceremony were WomenbizPH Chairperson, Mylene Abiva; CEO of Inteco Group of Isuzu Dealerships, Ray Jarina; Likhaan’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr Sylvia Estrada-Claudio; and Likhaan Trustee, Dr. Jaime Galvez-Tan.

Likhaan will be using the ambulance-patient transport vehicle in its community-based health facility in Naic, Cavite. The program will serve over 1,000 family-relocatees from Metro-Manila and who are currently living in hundreds of NHA rowhouses far from health facilities. ”Amada,” CEO Ray Janina’s name for his beloved mother will be vehicle’s name. Amada will be used to transport the most underserved and beloved women of Naic to the health care they urgently need.
